The hope is that we´ll be able to travel from Los Angeles, through Mexico and Central America to Colombia, then down through the Andes to Argentina, where we will turn north through Uruguay and Brazil to Venezuela, taking in every country along the way. Hopefully (and this is I-hope-I-become-a-rockstar level hope), we´ll then be able to check out Cuba, Jamaica and other parts of the Caribbean before returning home.

Planet Kapow had its beginnings in 2007, when three friends from Sydney, Australia – Erin, Adam and Lachlan - met in Bangkok. Erin and Lachlan were on their way to good jobs in Canada and Adam was working away at a good job in Bangkok itself, but they were all bad enough influences on each other that within a couple of months they´d thrown it all in to go traveling together around Asia. Along the way, they made a series of videos for their families and friends, called Ping Pong Ka-Pow.

Those videos were fairly basic (they´re all available on this site) but we had great fun making them, and it gave us a good project to pursue while we were traveling – without which we would undoubtedly still be drunkenly wandering around some perfect Thai island, unable to remember our names. We enjoyed it so much, in fact, that as soon as we returned to Sydney we recruited another friend, Danielle, and started planning another trip, this time through the Americas.

Adam and Lachlan left Sydney in August 2010 and began their long tour of Mexico while the girls continued to work and save before heading over themselves in mid-November. Now it´s time to hit the great road south…
